Guidelines for the Activities for the Resource Bank:

The items produced should
  1. Use the template (link below)
  2. Try to make application problems interesting & relevant to students (based on real data, with reference)
  3. Concentrate on the designated math concept, but may include topics previously covered
  4. Involve working in groups, or at least pairs
  5. Use primary sources for information
  6. The application problem content should complement and/or reinforce and/or illustrate the math concept. Do not need to teach the non-math application – the application details should not muddy the math.
  7. Problem questions may be open-ended: “why ”, “what “, “justify”, “explain”, requiring some narrative.
